I have a Haas Mini Mill and just had this problem last week. There was a chip on the x-axis limit switch. Look at the front of the table and you will see a cover with about 7 or 8 screws holding it on. On the back of the table is the same cover. There is enough of a gap on the bottom of the cover to allow chips to be blown up under it.

You don't need high speed for stainless. Higher speed is primarily for aluminum. Mini mill is a great mill. You might be better served with a lathe over a 4th axis depending on your objective. Thanks for the info. Actually, we just bought new Mazak Quickturn for £90k at one of my sites.
